Jan 2021 Full Moon in Leo: The Rebellious Act of Being
Full Moon in Leo. Squaring Mars, Uranus & Lilith in Taurus, conjunct Jupiter, Saturn in Aquarius. Sun in Gate 19 & Moon in Gate 33 in #HumanDesign
In the last few weeks, I’ve personally been feeling like I’m hitting my edge (and wall) with the pandemic and staying home which my family and I have been strictly enforcing since last March (almost a year): no restaurants, no trips, no in person school or social gatherings, no travel, etc. On social media, I have seen and heard a lot of people are also hitting their pandemic wall. And yet…here we are: still in a raging pandemic in most countries across the globe. The full moon today speaks to this extreme pressure of standing still while the fire rages. What do we do with this energy? How do we understand it? How do we work with it so it does not consume us?
Y’all, I don’t know. We’ve never been in this situation of a global pandemic bc of a virus in our lifetime (I will say that the global pandemic of racism and misogyny has been raging for centuries, also claiming millions upon millions of lives, continuing to this day). This full moon is fierce with energies that are equally present in us right now; deep feelings while also feeling bound, held in a vice (I mentioned the vice in my new moon writing 2 weeks ago). How does one work with a raging fire whipped up higher by howling winds of change while feeling chained and unable to move?
You know who has survived previous global pandemics? Our ancestors. If they hadn’t, we wouldn’t be here. Shoutout of gratitude to them. My spiritual practice today and for the next few days going forward will be simple: thank my ancestors and ask them for their blessings and protection as we continue to survive/live through this pandemic. 2. Movement to process the energies through my system 3. Breath work both through my movement practice as well as through my meditation practice. That’s it. And you know what? It’s enough. It’s more than enough.
I’ve been reflecting on how we’ve been conditioned though the paradigm (dare I say egregore) of capitalism that everything has to turn out a result that can be capitalized upon, translated into something that has monetary value. This includes how we approach astrology and even our Spiritual practice.
Trying to push through with behaviors from before the pandemic are not going to be what saves us. We are all crumbling and the paradigms are also crumbling. These old habits, old unconscious collective behaviors, old personal patterns are not sustainable. And the shift begins with allowing ourselves to just be. To release the unconscious contract of having to “do” it all, all the time, rebelling against the mandate to always be doing
